Rates and Other Details

Hourly Rate:  I charge at an hourly rate. Please call or email me to discuss rates as they may vary. I do not charge by the board foot because I am engaging in custom sawyer services. As I cut each log, I will make sure that you the customer is happy with the type of cut I'm making.

Travel Costs:  I have a flat rate  I charge for travel to your location and set up my mill for locations up to an hour away. If you are more than one hour from my location, added travel costs will be attached to that flat rate. Because I am a portable service, and charge by the hour, I also will charge for time getting the site ready if they customer does not have the site ready in terms of being able to pull up to the logs and having an area ready for the saw mill.

Moving Logs: Please know that logs are Really Really  heavy. That means that I need to be able to pull my sawmill right next to them for me to roll them onto the hydraulic loading arm to get them on the mill deck. I ask that you have the logs ready to be rolled onto the loading arm. If the logs are too large for you to move and/or have large knots of them, you may need to use a skid steer or tractor to move them. If you cannot do this yourself, I am partnered with individuals who will coordinate with me to  be at the job site to move/load logs during the milling process. This is a separate charge outside of my hourly rate. While you are paying a higher hourly rate, the time on the job is significantly reduced since loading the logs is one of the most time-intensive portions of the milling process and may be worth the cost, especially if you have fairly large logs you are working with. If you have your own tractor or means to move the logs, I am more than happy to work with you on the job site.

Blades: I do not charge for normal wear and tear of blades on a job but will charge for a blade replacement if a blade is damaged during the milling process. This usually involves striking a nail or other metal material embedded in a tree. Blade replacment cost is $80 a blade, and the time needed to change it will be billed also.
