Hupy Custom Sawyer Services LLC
The Sawmill I operate is a Wood Mizer LT 35 with a hydraulic deck. I can saw logs up to 32 inches wide and 21 feet long.
As an avid woodworker, I started Hupy Custom Sawyer Services after seeing too many good logs go to waste by ending up as firewood or poorly cut lumber.
My mission with Hupy Custom Sawyer Services is to work with customers to cut up logs in the way they want. To me, custom sawyering isn't so much a business, but more so a passion to cut logs in a way that makes both me and the customer happy. Before purchasing my sawmill in 2022, I had far too many experiences where I cut down trees, paid for a sawyer service, and had logs all cut the same way to where the grain patterns were not revealed or, worse, where the boards would cup due to a bad cut. When I sawyer a log, I do not charge by the board foot as I'm not into production. I cut logs to what the customer wants. I will show them the grain and ask them what kinds of end products they want.
As a custom woodworker who works with non-dimension cut lumber to create everthing from built-in bookshelves, to floating slab shelves, to cutting boards, I can also work with the customer to make cuts that will match what they want to get from that log. I know from experience that having that favorite tree go down in the back yard can be painful. Why not extend the memory by turning that into a mantle shelf, or cutting boards to exchange as gifts with loved ones?
